Museum Volunteers

Help the Windmill Museum preserve history and the American Windmill by becoming a volunteer. The people who work at the museum are all volunteers dedicated to promoting the importance of wind power and the contribution windmills have made throughout history.

Our volunteers are the driving force behind the operation and management of the museum. They have been and continue to be the heart and soul of the Mid-America Windmill Museum since its conception in 1991. Countless hours have been spent to get the dream of a unique, one of a kind museum open for visitors. We constantly strive to add new windmills and displays to attract visitors.

Volunteers with all types of skills and interests are needed in all areas of the museum’s operations. Generally one Saturday a month is designed to be a work day, but many of the volunteers work when their schedules permit. Each year in October, the museum board of directors host a volunteer appreciation picnic to thank our many dedicated volunteers for their support and hard work during the year.
