Baker Hall Reception Center can be rented for
Baker Hall, named in honor of C. Russell Baker, one of the original founders of the Kendallville Windmill Museum and Historical Society, is a 6,000 square foot pre-engineered steel building. It was funded by the State of Indiana Build Indiana Fund grant money and erected in 2001.
The Mid-America Windmill Museum’s Baker Hall is one of the most popular places for public gatherings from wedding receptions to family reunions to graduation proms. The entrance foyer leads into a 4,200 square foot open area that can accommodate 350 people. Round and rectangular tables and chairs are available and included in the rental. There is a warming kitchen and ADA compliant restrooms. It is heated and air-conditioned. Baker Hall is a smoke free facility and handicapped accessible.
Above the lobby, on the second floor, is the Museum Library which houses an extensive collection of original documents pertaining to windmills and various windmill manufacturers.
Rental fees are based on the type of event scheduled. A deposit is required to
reserve a date. Persons renting the facility also need to have a Liability Insurance Policy. Renters must provide off-duty police security for the building if alcohol is going to be available during the event. Cleaning service can be arranged and provided for an additional charge.
For rental information contact Lee Harris at 260-242-0015.
